Ethel Malone, Erwin

ERWIN — Ethel Evelyn Duncan Malone passed away September 8, 2011, at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. She was 96.
Born on January 14, 1915, she was a life-long resident of Unicoi County. She was the daughter of Creola Bean and James Lawson Duncan, and a descendent of William Bean, one of the first early settlers of this area.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Robert “Bob” Malone; and five brothers (Edgar, James, Hubert, Cecil and Roy); two half-brothers (Dudley and William); and five half sisters (Ruby, Belle, Ora, Vestal and Cora).
She was a homemaker and, in earlier years, worked as a free-hand painter at the Southern Pottery. She was a life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Condolences may be sent to Valley Funeral Home, 1085 N. Main, Erwin, TN 37650, and instead of flowers, request that any contributions go, in her name, to the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit, 100 Greenway Circle, Erwin, TN 37650.
Mrs. Malone will be buried beside her husband in a private ceremony at Roselawn Cemetery.
