Ruth Darlene Pate, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Ruth Darlene “RD” Pierce Pate went to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle, on Monday Sept. 5, 2011.  
Darlene served as a Johnson City Public Safety Officer from 1982-94 and was in law enforcement for 25 years.  She had a zest for life, deep love for family and four legged animals. 
Darlene was preceded in death by her Mother, Eliza Ellen Biggs, of Bristol; and her Stepson, Jamie Lee Pate, Elizabethton.
Surviving are: Husband of 19 years, Dannie Pate, Elizabethton; her pet “babies,” Precious, Gizmo and Cuddles; Daughters: Renee Hall and Becky Quillen, Kingsport, Amy Worrell & husband, Matt, Telford, Anna Willis & husband, Michael, Johnson City; Sons: Scott Pate, Jonesborough & Andrew Pate, Elizabethton; Parents In Laws: Jack & Nellie Pate, Elizabethton; Sisters In Laws: Kathy Timbs & Husband, Jim, Elizabethton, Belinda Heaton & Husband, Tim, Alabama, Kim Lacey & Husband, Russell, Elizabethton, Leanne Waycaster & husband, Mitchell, Elizabethton; Ten Grandchildren and Several Nieces & Nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Carter Christian Church, 1765 Hwy 91, Stoney Creek, Elizabethton TN.
Friends will be received from 4-6 PM with the service beginning at 6 PM. Friends may also call at the residence of Jack & Nellie Pate, 115 Tanasie Dr., Elizabethton.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to either American Cancer Society or Elizabethton Animal Shelter.
