James Dunbar, Johnson City

James C. Dunbar, age 83, of the South Central Community, Chuckey, died Monday, September 5, 2011, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.
He was retired from Moody Dunbar, Inc.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Jean Dunbar, of Telford; one step grandchild and spouse: Natalie and Toby Waddle, two step great grandchildren: Anna and Emma Waddle, all of Telford; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Bonnie and Faye Henley, of Limestone, Velma and Kyle Bailey, of Chuckey, Phyllis and Pete Miller, of Hickory, NC, and Betty and Gene Gregg, of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Della Mae Jaynes, of Chuckey.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Doris Wilhoit Dunbar and his parents: Troy and Edith Dunbar.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Doughty-Stevens Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Liberty FWB Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 8, 2011, for the committal service. Active pallbearers will be Kyle Bailey, Jeff Bailey, Toby Waddle, Pete Miller, Tony Henley and Mickey Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Hammer, Virgil Tarlton, Tommy McCurry, Tom Spears, Fred Kaufmann and Walter Painter.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
