John Jackson, Johnson City

John Dolen Jackson, age 76, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Jackson was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Washington County, TN. He was a son of the late Frank B. & Edith Price Jackson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Rose Green Jackson; infant brothers, Lonnie Glenn Jackson and Donald Jackson; and an infant sister, Betty Ruth Jackson.
He was a member of Jonesborough Church of God.
Mr. Jackson served in Tennessee State Guard for 16½ years.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patsy Percell Jackson, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Allen D. & Susan Blair Jackson, Jonesborough; daughter, Johna D. Jackson and fiancé, Don Hollifield, Unicoi; three brothers, Elmer “Bud” Jackson and Bobby Jackson, both of Jonesborough, and Scottie Jackson, Tennessee; four sisters, Shirley Bennett (Stanley), Susan Castelle (Wayne), Nancy Castelle and Pam Edwards (Jerry), all of Jonesborough; his beloved cats, Sassy & Callie Mae; very special friend, Jewel Price; and special friends and caregivers, Linda Byrd, Angela Williams and Tina Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lusk officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Owens, James Story, Don Hollifield, Bobby Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Dale McCurry and Allen Jackson.
