Richard Hicks, Hampton

HAMPTON — Richard Arlen (T T) Hicks, 64, Hampton, passed away Monday August 29, 2011, in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James H. and Juanita White Hicks. He was a retired employee of American Air Filter and was a former employee of the Bemberg Corporation.
He served as a Carter County Constable for 12 years and was a member of the Carter County Rescue Squad for 16 years.
Richard was a member of Hampton Masonic Lodge # 750. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the DAV. He was a member of the Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church but attended Hampton Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: James Hicks Jr. and Robert Hicks; and two nephews: Michael Hicks and Jimmy Ward.
Survivors include his wife: Kathryn Judy Hicks; A Daughter & son-in-law: Teresa & Danny McClain, Hampton; Two Grandsons: Cody and Adam McClain; a Granddaughter: Rylie McClain; A Sister & Brother-in-Law: Brenda & Jim Ward, Johnson City; A Brother & Sister-in-law: Dean & Collene Hicks, Elizabethton; A Sister-In-Law: Maybelle Hicks, Hampton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, Minister, and Rev. Matthew Guy officiating.
Graveside Services and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lyons Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ray Heaton, Gary Shingleton, Carl Montgomery, Carter County Constables and member of the Carter County Rescue Squad.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Hampton Masonic Lodge # 750 will conduct a Memorial Service following the funeral service. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion and the Tennessee National Guard. Friends may also call at the residence of his daughter & son-in-law: Teresa & Danny McClain, 119 McClain Private Drive, Hampton.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
