SAVANNAH, Ga. — Kimberly K. Klein, 42, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 22, 2011, in Savannah, Georgia.
She was a native of Johnson City and was a daughter of Charles and Wilma Mottern Grindstaff, of Johnson City. Mrs. Klein had worked at the Johnson City Hallmark before moving to Georgia. She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed reading and sightseeing.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Larry Klein, Georgia; a son, Nicholas Klein, Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Kelly Grindstaff, Johnson City; several aunts and uncles, Larry Grindstaff, Johnson City, Bea Boswell and husband, Don, of Indiana, Mary Campbell, Washington, Katie Wallis, New Mexico, Linda Chandler and husband, Tony, Johnson City, Charles Mottern and his wife, Karyn, California, Bill Mottern and his wife, Vicki, Greeneville, and Geraldine Pinkston, of Johnson City; several cousins; and her best friends/dogs, Roxie and Izzy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 25, 2011, in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, with the Rev. Bill Ponder officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until service time.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 26, 2011, in the Washington County Memory Gardens. For those attending, you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
