Garnet John ‘Bud’ Jarrett, Dade City, Fla.

DADE CITY, Fla. — Garnet John “Bud” Jarrett, age 68, of Dade City, FL, formerly of the Central Community in Johnson City, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the H.P. Hospice Center in Dade City, FL following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Jarrett was a son of the late Robert Sherman Jarrett and Frances Sparks Lewis Jarrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Whitehead and three brothers, Fred Jarrett, Foy Jarrett, and William “Dusty” Lewis.
Mr. Jarrett was a 1960 graduate of Happy Valley High School, and was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church. “Bud” loved spending his free time traveling all over the country.
Mr. Jarrett is survived by his daughter, Judith Blevins and her husband, David, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Cory Blevins and Courtney Blevins, both of Elizabethton; three brothers, Frank Jarrett and wife, Ina, Johnson City, Farrell Jarrett and wife, Shirley, Chattanooga, and Carl Lewis and wife, Martha, Boones Creek; four sisters, Thelma Holt, Johnson City, Helen Pate and husband, Arnold “Bud”, Boones Creek, Edna Crumley and husband, Tom, Johnson City, and Sarah Edwards and husband, Garry, Johnson City; and a special friend, Barbara Gallagher, Dade City, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Mr. Jarrett will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 25, 2011 in the Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Garry Edwards officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from his family and friends. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:20 A.M. for that service. A reception will follow the graveside at Sinking Creek Baptist Church where everyone is invited to attend. Friends may also visit the home of his sister, Edna Crumley, 181 Jarrett Buck Loop, Johnson City, other times.
