Kathryn ‘Kaye’ Rowe, Johnson City

Kathryn “Kaye” Noble Rowe, 81, of Johnson City, TN, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at home following a prolonged illness.
Kaye, daughter of the late James Noble and Pauline (Loureu) Noble, was born in Scranton, PA on May 30, 1930. Raised in Library, she graduated from Snowden Township High School in 1949 and attended classes at both UCLA and Orange Coast College in California.
Kaye served her country during the Korean War. She was stationed at Headquarters, War Plans, in Weisbaden, Germany.
Besides being a devoted mother and serving her country, Kaye also worked for the Internal Revenue Service as an auditor and at McDonnell Douglas Aerospace where her duties included getting price quotes and negotiating with NASA on such projects as Saturn, Skylab, Lunar Module, and the Shuttle.
She lived in Daytona Beach, FL for 23 years. She learned to play the button box accordion very well and played with some pretty famous people including Frankie Yankavic and the gang.
For the last 10 years of her life, she has lived near her son, David, in Johnson City, TN. She went skydiving for the first time at age 70 and had a blast. She loved her family and friends and loved life.
She is survived by her two loving sons, David J. Lachman and his wife Donna of Johnson City, TN and Mark S. Lachman and wife Paula of Framingham, MA; three adored grandchildren, Benjamin, Sydney and Aaron Lachman.
A graveside service for Kathryn “Kaye” Noble Rowe was held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery, Edgewater, Florida.
The family conducted a Celebration of Life following the graveside service at SNPJ Lodge, 421 N. Samsula Drive, New Smyrna Beach, Fl. (386-428-3983)
