Barbara Lunceford, Hampton

HAMPTON — Barbara Lunceford, 75, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late James and Joda Phillips Davis and was born in Bridgeport, AL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freamon Lunceford, in 2001; a daughter, Deborah Lunceford, three brothers, Richard Davis, Gene Davis, Joe John Davis; two sisters, Beatrice Odom and Jerry Smith. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Lunceford is survived by a sister, Margie Kennemore, Bridgeport, AL; two brothers, Cecil Davis and his wife, Jean, Bridgeport, AL; Herman Davis and his wife, Helen, Hampton, TN; a nephew Scott Davis, Hampton and a niece, Vicky Taylor, Jonesborough, and a great-niece, Harley Davis, Hampton, whom she considered a granddaughter.
Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lunceford will be conducted on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 8:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday prior to the service and at the home of her brother, sister-in-law, and nephew Herman, Helen and Scott Davis at other times.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Walnut Mountain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Raymond Bridwell will serve as honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 PM Sunday.
