KINGSPORT — Brenda Lou Maddux Harrison, 70, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away at 6:30 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Wellington Place.
She was born in Hilton, Virginia, she was a retired legal secretary, having worked for Judson Thorton, of Jonesborough, Tennessee. She had resided in Colonial Heights for many years, and was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Flannery Maddux and Mary Bell McMurray Maddux.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, James Harrison. Daughter: Kim Lawson, of Rogersville, Tennessee. Sons: Jeff Davis and wife, Rhenda, of North Carolina, and Mark Davis and Fiancee, Anna Collins, of Florida. Step-Son: Ricky Harrison and his wife, Dawn, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Brother: Earl Flannery Maddux, Jr., and wife, Lydia, of Maryland. Grandchildren: Shaleena Lawson, Amanda Lawson, Haley Davis, Peyton Harrison, Rachel Harrison, and Victoria Collins. The family would like to send a special thank you to Brenda’s Sister-In-Law, Melba Poteat, for her tender love and care over all these years, and a special thanks to the Staff of Wellington Place in Colonial Heights for all their love and special care.
The family of Brenda Lou Maddux Harrison will recieve friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 19, 2011, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Rev. James Cambron officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
