Marjorie ‘Carol’ Childress, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Marjorie “Carol” Masters Childress, 71, Elizabethton went home to be with her Lord Wednesday August 17, 2011 at her residence.
A native of Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Katherine Blanche Campbell Masters. She had lived in Elizabethton for a number of years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Marjorie loved her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Lewis Childress and two brothers: C.A. Masters and Ralph Masters.
Survivors include Four Daughters and three sons-in-law: Lisa & Michael Fraley, Johnson City, Linda & Keith Dyer, Jonesborough, Laura Price with the United States Air Force stationed in Anchorage, Alaska and Lana & Steven Green, Elizabethton. Two Sons: Larry Childress, Bluff City and Lewis Childress and wife Gayla, Jonesborough. Four Grandchildren: Hunter Lewis, Larissa Price, Ethan Green and Kaylee Grace Childress. Several Nieces & Nephews.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Marjorie Childress will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel, 212 N. Main Street, Elizabethton with the Rev. Roy Dayton Lewis and Rev. Nathan Jennings officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Childress to the St. Jude Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142, The Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or the Carter County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 134, Elizabethton, TN37644.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
It was her wish to be cremated.
