Josephine McIntosh, FLAG POND

FLAG POND — Josephine Brackins McIntosh, age 77, of 686 McIntosh Road, Flag Pond, went home to be with the Lord, Monday evening, August 15, 2011 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation in Mars Hill, NC.
Mrs. McIntosh was born November 8, 1934 in Madison County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Rothie Brackins and Ila Fender Capps.
Mrs. McIntosh was a long time member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Other than parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nute Jim McIntosh who passed away June 18, 1997, her grandson, Justin DeWayne Briggs and three brothers, Woodfin Brackins, Gene Brackins, and Delano Brackins.
Mrs. McIntosh is survived by two daughters, Jana Coe and husband Tommy, Flag Pond, Ella Carver and husband John, Mars Hill; four grandchildren, Johnathan Carver, Mars Hill, Dustin Briggs, Shane Briggs, Jonesbourgh, Sherry Niederbrach, of MO; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, in the chapel of Robert Ledford Funeral Home with Reverend Craig Shelton officiating. Special music will be provided by Inez Chandler. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. preceding the service at the funeral home.
The committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Rice Creek Cemetery. Those attending should meet at the funeral home by 10:00 A.M. Thursday.
