Stella Hodges, Gray

Stella Stafford Hodges, 92, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away at 2:24 P.M., Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Tennessee. She was a Homemaker and a longtime member of Hale’s Chapel Christian Church and a past member of the Appalachian Fair Board. Stella was a graduate of Sulpher Springs High School. She is preceded in death by her Husband, James V. Hodges, Parents, Floyd Stafford and Roxie Barnes Stafford, Brothers, Niles Stafford and A.J. Stafford, and Nephew, Terry Stafford.
Stella is survived by her Daughter and Son-In-Law, Judy Shadden and Johnny Shadden, of Gray. Several Nephews and a special niece, Kathy Martin, and special family friends, Frank and Trudy Watkins, Ray and Vickie Bradley, Sue Shadden.
Graveside services for Stella Stafford Hodges will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Elder Larry Buckingham officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Stafford, Edward Stafford, Allen Stafford, Jerry Lovegrove, Bruce Wine, Brad Jones, Bo Shadden, Mike Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Watkins, Jerry Barron, Roy Jones, “Gippy” Martin, Ray Bradley.
The family would like to give special thanks to her loving and compassionate caregivers, Joyce Pickering, Phyllis Laws, Lora Dowling, Judi Barron, Tammy Young, Beverly Anderson, April Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hale’s Chapel Christian Church, 280 Hales Chapel Road, Gray, Tennessee 37615, or to the charity of one’s choice. The family is recieving friends anytime at the home of the Daughter.
