Marie Moore, Elizabethton

Marie Morris Moore, 77, 101 Franklin Place, Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, August 14, 2011 In the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Goldie Sams Morris. Marie was a 1953 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was employed as a cook at Ridgewood Restaurant for 48 years. She was still working there until April of this year. She was a member of the Borderview Christian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Coonie” Moore and a special nephew: Tim Davis.
Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Wynona and Pooter Carver, Unicoi and Linda & Dale Peters, Dry Creek, Jonesborough. Three Sons: Eddie James Moore and Michael D. Moore both of Watauga and Terry Moore and wife Diane, Elizabethton. Two very special sisters: Helen Morris and Marlene Davis both of Elizabethton. One Brother: Bob Morris, of Arkansas. Eight Grandchildren: Regina Ellis Cole, Chris Dale Peters, Michael Moore, Ashley Elliott, Brittany, Chelsea, Josh and Brandon Moore. Five Great Grandchildren: Whitney Cole, Christopher Peters , Aiden Smith, Zane Johnson and Zachary Holsclaw and her very special nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Kirk Langston and Mr. Morris Burkett Ministers officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mountain View Cemetery, Bluff City. Music will be provided by Mr. Joel Crisp. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday will be: Terry Bridgeman, Jerry Hardin, Chris Peters, Mike Baird, Burl Cole, Rocky Bridgeman, Josh Moore, Mark Davis and Jason Nelson. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter & son-in-law: Wynona & Pooter Carver, 6105 Simerly Creek Road, Unicoi.
