Leona Krell Stewart Bayne, 84, of Telford, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 11, 2011, in the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a native of South Carolina but had lived in Washington County most of her life. Mrs. Bayne was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Humphreys Krell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Jonesborough.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton Stewart, in 1957; and her second husband, Walter Bayne III, in 1998; a sister, Mildred Lilley; and three brothers, George, Charles and Lonnie Krell.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Stewart and his wife, Earnestine, of Jonesborough, and John Stewart and his wife, Judy, of Telford; a daughter, Debbie Tate, of Knoxville; two sisters, Alice Harrell and her husband, Bob, Jonesborough, and Mary Brown and her husband, John, of Johnson City; three brothers, John Krell, of Florida, Jim Krell and his wife, Mary, Johnson City, Larry Krell, of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Angie Tillman and her husband, Anthony, Knoxville, Clayton Stewart and his wife, Kasey, Elizabethton, Amy Johnson and her husband, Dave, Johnson City, Brandy Laws and her husband, Randall, Knoxville, Brandon and Brent Tate, of Knoxville; six great grandchildren, Kaleb, Joseph and Kaylee Laws, Zakery Stewart, Owen Johnson and Emma Kate Johnson; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
The Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 14, 2011, in the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1916 Hwy 81, Jonesborough, with Pastor Perry Cleek officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.
Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be, John Brown, Dwight Harrell, Mark Bowles, Sal Cicerello, John Lester Krell, Jerry Bailey, Jerry Miller and Sam Roach. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Christy, Tim, Anthony, Karl, Allen and Donnie Krell.
The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, August 13, 2011, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and other times at the home of a son, John Stewart.
