BLOUNTVILLE — Polly Ann Hayes Huffman, 58, departed this earthly life and gained her new body with her Heavenly Father on August 2, 2011.
She was a daughter of the late Frank Burton Hayes and Mary Holland Hayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Hayes and Burton Hayes; and two nephews, Rodney and Ricky Stine.
She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. She epitomized the Beatitudes. She was compassionate and very giving. Her passion was helping the needy to include the purchasing of homes.
She started Best Uniform Center in Johnson City in 1985. Her sister joined her in 1993, and they opened Centers in Kingsport and Bristol, TN.
Polly is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, John H. Huffman; four step children, Samantha Huffman Simpson and husband, Royce, of Mt. Home, AR, Amanda Kenny and husband, Guy, Denise Fugate, both of Blountville, TN, and John Huffman Jr., of Kingsport, TN; five sisters, Pauline Gibson, of Kingsport, TN, Betty Bowers and husband, Bobby, Sue Huffman and husband, Ralph, Flora Bowers and husband, Mike, and Margaret Clark and husband, Mack, all of Blountville, TN; four brothers, Adam Hayes and wife, Margaret, James Hayes and wife, Gracie, both of Blountville, TN, Willard Hayes and wife, Iva Dell, of Surgoinsville, TN, and Hiram Hayes and wife, Margaret, of Blountville, TN; special niece, Lillie Moore, of Blountville, TN, who helped in her care; six step grandchildren; nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:45 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.
The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. L.D. Lane officiating.
The committal service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Blountville, TN.
