Kenneth Phillips, Johnson City

Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Phillips, age 61, passed away at his residence Monday, August 1, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Phillips was of the Leesburg Community and son of the late James Edward & Bessie Tipton Phillips. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Edward Phillips and Neal Phillips.
He worked for IIT North until its closing and was a farmer. He enjoyed gardening and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of nine years, Kathy Street Phillips; twins, Don Phillips and Denise Tolley, Allen & Brian Baines; eight grandchildren, Kathy Phillips, Chasity Phillips, Gracie Phillips, Heather & Rene Tolley, Beth & Whitney Baines and Ashley Baines; two great-grandsons; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dee & Don Garst, Dorothy & Gary McKee and Elsie & Roger Shelton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack & Mary Phillips and James Allen & Kathy Phillips; special friend Dot Sult.
The family would like to thank the Pulmonary Associates of Johnson City and Smokey Mountain Hospice for their wonderful care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
