Mildred Burker, Erwin

ERWIN — Mildred Ellen Burker, age 73, of Erwin, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Clifford Taft and Ester Taylor Bowling. She was a former member of Oak Street Baptist Church and attended Belvue Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Burker; and a granddaughter, Brittany Erwin.
Survivors include three sons, Doug Burker, Orlando, FL, Gary Burker and wife, Tish, Kingsport, Tim Burker and wife, Amy, Elizabethton; one daughter, Dona Erwin, Erwin; one brother, Melvin Bowling and wife, Marjorie, LaGrange, GA; six grandchildren, Beth Cohen and husband, Matt, Amy Magdzuik and husband, Justin, Drew Burker, Abbigail Burker, Brandon Estep, Jefferson Erwin; and special friends, Mary and Jerry Erwin.
The memorial service for Ms. Burker will be conducted at 8 PM Monday August 1, 2011, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Dr. John Owston officiating.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 6 PM until 8 PM prior to the memorial service.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Shriners Hospital for Children-Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 in memory of her granddaughter, Brittany.
