Dr. Bartley Ford, Sulphur Springs

Dr. Bartley L. Ford, age 50, Sulphur Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at his residence.
Dr. Ford was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University in 1981 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University Of Tennessee Center Of Health Sciences in 1985.
Dr. Ford obtained post-graduate training at Baylor College of Dentistry and completed the Aesthetic Restorative Continuum. He also received a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
He was preceded in death by Grandparents, Hal and Iva Ford and William and Elsie Jones, all of Sulphur Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Dorma Jenkins Ford, of Sulphur Springs; son, Will Ford, daughter, Julia Ford, and stepdaughter, Ashlee Jenks, all of Sulphur Springs; parents, Bobby and Elaine Ford, of Sulphur Springs; sister, Robin Ford, of Johnson City; and nieces, Heather Duty and husband, Steven, Amber Garland; and special Great niece, Reagan Duty; special aunt, Carolyn and her husband, Allen Jones, and their family; aunt, Judy Sparks and her family; and uncle, Larry Walker and his family.
He started his dental practice in Gray in 1985 and has continued his practice in the Tri-Cities area. Bart was a caring and compassionate dentist who will be greatly missed by his many friends and patients. He will also be deeply missed by his loyal, loving staff: Carol Durham, Jan Rhoton, Misty Murray, Traci Pate, Holly Harris and Mark Lowe.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
