Glenn Hilmon, Hampton

HAMPTON — Glenn “Sheriff” Hilmon, 64, 107 Gastiger Drive, Hampton, TN went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2011, at the VA Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Elmer and Velma Hilmon and Step-father Junior Honeycutt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Elmer Dewey Hilmon. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. He was a union pipefitter of Local Union 538. He enjoyed the simple things in life: hiking and fishing. He was a dedicated Earnhardt fan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kennedy Hilmon of the home. Three Sons: Chris Taylor of Jacksonville, FL; Shannon Hilmon and wife Sharon of Roan Mountain, TN; and Jonah Hilmon of Roan Mountain, TN. Three Grandchildren: Peyton Taylor of Hendersonville, TN; Erica and Jonah Hilmon of Roan Mountain, TN. Three Sisters: Joann Norris of Hampton, TN; Mary Sue Goodwin and Carrie of Bessemer, Alabama; Debbie and Ike Price of Roan Mountain, TN. He is also survived by several special Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Wonderful Neighbors. It was his wish was to be cremated.
We will be receiving friends at the residence, 107 Gastiger Drive, Hampton, TN at any time. Those who prefer may make memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lou Cooter (Memorial Chair) 415 Washington Ave., Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Nursing Staff of the ICU and C Ward at the James H. Quillen VA Hospital.
