Geneva Steadman, Kingsport

KINGSPORT — Geneva Davidson Steadman, 81, of Sullivan Gardens, died at 5 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Geneva was a lifelong resident of the Kingsport area.
She was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.
Her parents, Virgie and Echol Davidson; and a brother, Paul Davidson; preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert N. “Bob” Steadman, of Kingsport; three sons, Joe Steadman, of Kingsport, Mark Steadman and wife, Jacqui, of Johnson City, and Jeff Steadman, of Kingsport; two grandchildren, John Steadman and Samantha Steadman; two sisters, Loree Lucas and husband, Paul, of Kingsport, and Betty Harris of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Bob Davidson, of Kingsport, and Harry Kay Davidson, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Rev. Dale M. Gilbert officiating.
Interment will follow at Depew’s Chapel Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
