Lorine Dorton, Lebanon, Va.

LEBANON, Va. — Lorine “Mamaw” Barnhart Dorton, age 69, of Hansonville, Virginia, completed her earthly life’s journey and ascended to be with the Lord, a just reward for a life well done.
She lived most of her life as a Russell County resident. Lorine was a graduate of Honaker High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She worked for over 30 years at the Lebanon Apparel Company.
Lorine was the daughter of the late Corbet Barnhart and the late Blanche Honaker Barnhart and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church for many years. Lorine was the wife of the late William J. “Punk” Dorton.
She excelled in her numerous life roles as homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. “Mamaw” had a positive impact on others and provided encouragement to many patients that were also battling cancer and heart disease. She faced life’s challenges with courage and grace.
In addition to her late husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kermit Barnhart, Don Barnhart; and one infant sister.
She is survived by one brother, Don Barnhart, of Gahanna, Ohio; and one sister, Kathleen Roush, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two sons, Billy Dorton, Lebanon, and Bobby Dorton and his wife, Ruby Dorton, of Hansonville. She has three grandchildren, Ana, Brittany and Seth, along with many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by special friends, Helen Henderson, Mary Seymore and Jennifer Nelson and Mark Nelson, of Washington County VA.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, in the Green Valley Baptist Church (located just off route 19, turn right onto Green Valley Road (657) for ½ mile) with the Rev. Alan Moor officiating.
Committal service and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, in Russell Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon VA. Those attending are requested to meet at the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Randy Dye, Kenny Barnhart, Gerald Grizzle, Max Hawkins, Jack Phelps, Ben Chafin, Eddie Hurd and Mark Nelson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 23, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
