Mamie Grace Campbell, age 83, of Johnson City, TN passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at NHC Healthcare Center.
She was a native of Jacksonville, NC, but had lived most of her life in Johnson City. Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Thomas Baker and Annie Lyllian Thompson. She was a homemaker, but worked for awhile at Blankenship Pharmacy. Mrs. Campbell was a member of East Watauga Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J. Fred Campbell, in 1990, five brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include one son, Butch Campbell and wife Susie, Elizabethton; one grandson, Doug Campbell and wife Elizabeth, Chattanooga, TN; two granddaughters, Stephanie McConnell, Elizabethton, Kelly Smith and husband Johnny, Johnson City; four great grandchildren, Ian and Emma Campbell, Preston and Baylee McConnell; special sister-in-law, Betty Morton, Asheville, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service and interment for Mrs. Campbell will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Wayne Cole, officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 A.M. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at their convenience to register their presence.
