Myrtle McKee, Johnson City

Mrs. Myrtle Hester McKee, age 84, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. McKee was a native of Unicoi County. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Tipton and Frankie Linville Tipton. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Cox; second husband Ralph McKee; five brothers, Arnold, Coolidge, Gene, Paul and Tom Tipton; three sisters, Pauline Tipton, Thelma Britt and Verna Laws.
Mrs. McKee retired from Kennametal after nineteen years of service.
Survivors include: two sons, Tony McKee and his wife Cindy of Johnson City and Ricky Cox and his wife Ann of Johnson City; one daughter, Pat King and her husband Doug of Unicoi; two brothers, Glen Tipton and his wife Wanda of Johnson City and Ray Tipton and his wife Jean of Gray; eight grandchildren, Todd King, Keith King, Brian King, Patty Bryant, Edward Cox, Andrew Cox, Mickey Cox and Jessica Cox.
The funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Hester McKee will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, July 11, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Terry Abel will officiate.
The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
