Roger Honeycutt, age 66, Marbleton Community, Unicoi, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Yancey County, NC and a son of the late Rev. Joe and Ruth Mitchell Honeycutt. He retired as a Supervisor from Tex-Tenn. in 2005 after fifteen years of service. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers: Clifton, Fred, Carson,and Herbert Honeycutt; and two sisters: Clara Bryant, and an infant sister.
He leaves behind: Wife of 46 years: Alma Honeycutt of Unicoi; Brothers: Howard Honeycutt of Unicoi; Lloyd and his wife Judy Honeycutt of Unicoi; Don and his wife Sheila Honeycutt of Erwin; Sister: Grace Pate of Unicoi; Brothers-in-Law: Roger and Sherry Gaddy of Erwin; David and Debbie Gaddy of Caledonia, MS; Ralph Gaddy of Spartanburg, SC; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Johnson City, TN. Reverend Kenneth Grindstaff will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Savannah Williams. Serving as Pallbearers will be Roger Gaddy, David Gaddy, Bruce Randolph, C. J. Bryant, Kenneth Honeycutt, and Jerry King. Those who plan to attend the graveside service, please meet at Valley Funeral Home on Tuesday, at 9:30 AM.
