Published July 9th, 2011 10:39 pm

BLUFF CITY — Lynna Dale Ward-Cook was born to Aubrey Dale Ward and Fleta Mae Stapelton on Dec. 23, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was a great person. She lived in Ohio in her early years. She was very active in her church as a singer and she also taught Sunday school to children when she was a teenager. Lynna loved reading her Bible and could quote many verses.
When she came of age she married John Cook Sr. and had three children by him. Time went on and they divorced after 8 years of marriage. She went on to be blessed to have another child. She loved her family. When her mother became sick she moved to TN to help her until her mom died.
Lynna loved to play pool, cards, and mancala with her kids and grandkids. She was a very sweet person who would give you the shirt of her back if you needed it. Her eyes could tell it all by the way they smiled when she was happy. She loved going fishing and playing her favorite game, Bingo. She would often win the coverall for many years. She would also enter singing contests which she frequently won.
Lynna had a zest for life. She had a lot of rough times, but she kept her good spirit in spite of them. She loved the Lord. One of her favorite verses was Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who stengthens me.
Lynna will be missed by all. Lynna is survived by 6 children, Kimberly Schott (Ken Schott), John Cook Jr. (Dorothy Cook), Selena Cook, Herschelle McGuire II, Anthony Washington (Tia), and JoAnne Washington. She also is survived by her Grandchildren; Robin Seats (sister); and brothers, Danny and RC Williams and Lonnie Depriest. She is also survived by her Aunt, Pat, Aunt, Christine, Cousin, Jean; and her step-father, Mack Johnson. She has many other family members who will miss her dearly.
On July 3, 2011, she went home to be with Jesus.
Her services will be held at Christian-Sells Funeral Home at 1520 East Main Street, Rogersville, TN 37857. The viewing will be on Sunday, July 10, 2011, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and the service will start at 3 p.m.
Afterwards, we will commute to Lawson Cemetery in Sneedville, TN, to commit our sweet and beloved mother to her final resting place.
