Christopher Wagner, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Christopher Morgan “Chris” Wagner, 23, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday unexpectedly, July 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was a Carter County native. Chris was a 2006 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He also was a graduate of Tennessee Technological Center, Elizabethton, with a degree in Automotive Technician. He was presently employed as a Tree Trimmer.
Chris was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ranger Station.Com. He loved to work with old cars.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Raleigh Shelton; and his Paternal Grandparents: Gary & Sue Oliver Wagner.
Survivors include his wife: Amanda Watkins Wagner; A Son: Kaiden Wagner, of the home; His Parents: Greg “Mater” & Charlene Shelton Wagner, Elizabethton; A Brother: Daniel Wagner, Elizabethton; His Maternal Grandmother: Glenna Shelton, Flag Pond; His special Aunts, Uncles and cousins; His father & mother-in-law: Don & Cathy Watkins, Elizabethton; A brother & sister-in-law: Kyle & Crystal Watkins and their daughter, Bailey, Elizabethton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Cook Cemetery, Elk Park, North Carolina. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, will be: Cody Grindstaff, David Lyons, Marty Shelton, Craig Shelton, Doug Edwards, Mike Wiggins, Rick Wagner and Dustin Simerly. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of the Johnson City Police Department and Ranger Station.Com.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his parents Greg “Mater” & Charlene Wagner, Elizabethton.
To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Chris to a fund for Kaiden at the Happy Valley Credit Union.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
