A downtown Johnson City crash led police to arrest a woman classified as a habitual motor offender Saturday night. Police said the woman was intoxicated when she plowed into a utility pole.

About 10:30 p.m., police were called to the crash at Buffalo Street near East Market Street. Police said Lesia E. Fender, 49, 144 Tittle Circle, had driven her vehicle up onto the sidewalk and struck the railroad tracks before crashing into the pole.

Both Fender and her passenger were treated for minor injuries on scene before being released by medical personnel.

Police said Fender had been too intoxicated to drive. A check of her driving history revealed that she was classified as a habitual motor offender. Police charged her with habitual motor offender violation, DUI third offense and failure to comply with financial responsibility.

She was held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center with a Sessions Court hearing set for Monday.
