Reports released Friday from the Johnson City Police Department:

Police chase. A short police chase ended with a man’s arrest Thursday in Johnson City. Jerome D. Rhea, 45, 2826 Emory Lane, was charged with felony evading arrest, sixth offense driving on revoked license, speeding and violation of the financial responsibility law. About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police spotted a Lincoln Town Car speeding on East Watauga Avenue and tried to stop the car. The driver continued onto East Myrtle Avenue. The car eventually stopped in a parking lot adjacent to East Myrtle and Center Street. Rhea was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond awaiting a Sessions Court appearance set for Friday. Rhea was also charged with evading arrest in 2009.

Counterfeit cash. A Johnson City man already jailed on a probation violation charge picked up additional charges Thursday, as police said he had passed counterfeit cash at a convenience market near his apartment. Joshua Carreon, 22, 1406 Colony Park Drive, Apt. 5, was charged with criminal simulation and theft of property under $1,000. Police said the transaction took place March 31 at 2300 S. Greenwood Drive (Scotchman). Carreon remained held at the Detention Center with a Sessions Court date set for Friday. His bond on the new charges was $150. Carreon was charged with simple possession of schedule IV drugs in 2016 and later with having contraband in a penal institution that same year.

Stolen bicycle. A Johnson City man stole a bicycle from a pickup truck’s bed last month, police said, resulting in his arrest Wednesday. Arvil Lee Pittman, 33, 832 Spring St., was charged with auto burglary and theft under $1,000. Police said the bike was taken from a truck parked at the Boone Creek Food City at 4307 N. Roan St. on the night of March 25. Pittman was later developed as a suspect. Erwin police found Pittman and transferred him to Johnson City police custody. He was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $7,500 bond and arraigned Thursday in Sessions Court. Pittman was charged in 2009 with attempted second-degree murder after Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office deputies said he stabbed a man four times. At the time, the Sheriff’s Office reported that Pittman had been arrested 15 times since 2003 and had just been released from jail when the stabbing occurred. State records indicate Pittman’s sentence ended in November 2010.

False reporting. A Johnson City woman was arrested Sunday after lying to police earlier this month during a theft investigation at her apartment complex, police said Friday in a news release. On April 5, police questioned Cassie D. Brady, 22, 2458 Mint Hill Road, as they looked into a a theft of motor vehicle parts at her apartment complex. A surveillance camera recorded the thief entering Brady’s apartment, police said, and Brady gave police a name for that person as she was interviewed. On April 21, police arrested someone else for the crime at Brady’s residence. Police said Brady had provided false information and identification to hinder the investigation and the thief’s arrest. Brady was charged with false reporting and held in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond. She was arraigned Monday in Sessions Court.
