Johnson City woman accused of stealing SUV

After investigating a report about a stolen 2011 Honda Pilot on Nov. 16, Johnson City police arrested a city woman and charged her with theft over $1,000.

When police talked to the victim, they were able to identify the suspect using the first name “Michelle,” according to a news release. On Nov. 30, the stolen SUV was stopped by law enforcement in Camden County, Georgia, where Michelle Cross, 30, 184 Happy Valley Road, was arrested and identified as the person who stole the vehicle, police said.

On Monday, Cross was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was held on $10,000 bond. She was set to appear in Sessions Court Jan. 24.
