KINGSPORT — Two men have been arrested after allegedly being captured on camera passing counterfeit money, according to a press release.

Derrick Allan Hensley, 34, Mabestanleytown Road, Duffield, Va., was charged with criminal simulation while Timothy A. Duncan, 26, Gravely Road, Kingsport, was charged with criminal simulation, false reporting and accessory after the fact.

The incident started after officers with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Apple Shed on Fort Henry Drive Tuesday morning regarding a counterfeit $100 bill received the night before.

Surveillance images showed that the suspect, later revealed to be Hensley, brought numerous items to the counter and tried to pay with the counterfeit bill. He reportedly convinced the clerk it was real by holding it up to the light after she seemed hesitant to accept the bill.
