On Friday morning, Johnson City police arrested Dylan J. Bordner, 20, after a brief chase that led through a field and a neighborhood near the area of 2316 Princeton Lane.
In a press release, police said they were called to the scene when the owner of a vehicle parked near that address reported seeing someone leaning inside his car. Police said the caller told them he startled the man and he then ran away, but that he was also able to give officers a description of his clothes.
Police said they saw the man fitting that description, who would later be identified as Bordner, running through a nearby field. After what police described as a “brief search,” officers found him and placed him in custody. Police said Bordner was read his Miranda Rights and then he told them he had broken into several other cars. As reports of additional burglaries from the area began to emerge, police said, items from those reports were found with Bordner.
Bordner was charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of theft under $500. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on a $42,000 bond. His arraignment was scheduled for Monday morning in Sessions Court.
