Police say they’ve arrested two people from Kingsport after a car was pulled over Tuesday evening.

A Johnson City Police Department news release said Christopher Bunche, 27, 999 Kinslers Ave., and Larissa N. Ramirez, 19, 737 Forest Ave., were arrested after JCPD officers pulled over a white Chevrolet Camaro because Bunche was observed not wearing his seatbelt at around 6 p.m on Buffalo Street near University Parkway. Investigators found Bunche, a convicted felon, to be in possession of a handgun and various drug paraphernalia items.

After arriving at the Washington County Detention Center, Ramirez was found to be hiding marijuana in her underwear and had attempted to destroy the evidence during the booking process.

Bunche was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, felony evading arrest, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, a second offense of driving on a suspended license and a seat belt violation. Ramirez was charged with introduction of drugs into a penal facility, destruction/tampering with evidence, simple possession of a schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bunche was being held on $23,000 bond and Ramirez on $37,000 bond. Their arraignment was set for Wednesday in Sessions Court.
