Off the Wall News: Friend's shout-out results in arrest

Staff Report • Apr 23, 2014 at 1:08 PM

"Sherman!" That may have been the last thing Sherman Love wanted to hear Tuesday afternoon when his van was pulled over by police at the corner of East Myrtle Avenue and North Broadway Street.

Police say Love had given them another name during the traffic stop, but one of Love's friends happened by and yelled his name aloud, allowing police to identify him.

Love, 32, 407 West Main St., was charged with identity theft, driving on revoked license, improper registration, and violation of the financial responsibility law. He was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance today.
