Washington County sheriff’s officers arrested two men last week in separate and unrelated sexual battery cases involving children.

The first arrest occurred April 10 after a complaint about a 57-year-old man touching his penis to a 4-year-old girl on several occasions.

Michael Eugene McAllister, 57, Jonesborough, was arrested on four counts of aggravated sexual battery after he gave a statement to Investigator Jared Taylor about the incidents.

According to court records, McAllister knew the girl’s relatives.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond and has a court hearing scheduled today in Washington County Sessions Court.

In the second case, Benjamin R. Lowe, 19, was arrested on a charge of forcible fondling/sexual battery after a report about a 5-year-old who told her parents that Lowe touched her between her legs.

It happened at a residence in Gray, according to a court document. Lowe knows the child and asked her to play. When the alleged incident occurred, the girl ran inside and told an adult what happened.

When a relative of the girl confronted Lowe, he allegedly said “he had done to her what he had done to all the other kids,” according to the court affidavit.

Lowe ran from the scene, but was apprehended a short time later after he told two other people what he had done. Those witnesses called the sheriff’s office and turned Lowe in.

Lowe is being held on a $50,000 bond and has a hearing scheduled in Sessions Court on Tuesday.
