On Saturday, Johnson City police arrested Jesse Sparks, 32, 707 Hoover St., after they arrived at his house to answer a call of domestic violence.
When they arrived at around 1:24 a.m., police said, they heard a woman’s screams coming from a bedroom window. Police said the man, who was identified as Sparks, ran after he saw them, but that he was caught after what was described as a short foot chase.
Police said the woman told them Sparks broke her phone, choked and bit her, and kept her inside the bedroom against her will. Police did not say what relationship the woman had with Sparks.
Sparks was charged with aggravated domestic assault, felony vandalism, evading arrest, false imprisonment, and interference with emergency calls. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on a $38,000 bond. He will appear in court Monday afternoon to face his charges.
