Johnson City crack investigation results in charges against 2 Kingsport teens

Two Kingsport men were arrested Thursday in Johnson City on charges that they were selling crack cocaine.

Kairi Thompson, 18, 1403 Oak St., Kingsport, and Eric Smith, 19, 247 Dunbar St., Kingsport, were arrested after a Johnson City Police Department investigation into crack distribution, police said.

Thompson was charged with three counts of selling crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, and tampering with evidence. Smith was charged with two counts of delivering crack cocaine.

Both were jailed in the Washington County Detention Center pending Sessions Court appearances today. Thompson's bond was $50,000. Smith's bond was $20,000.
