Elizabethton police arrest man after making drug buy, searching home

Elizabethton police searched a residence Thursday after on ongoing investigation into complaints regarding suspicious activity at the home.

Prior to the search, an undercover officer allegedly purchased drugs from resident Joshua David Hitechew, 28, on Jan. 4 as part of the investigation.

On Thursday, officers executed a search warrant at Hitechew's residence located at 514 Allen Ave., Elizabethton.Inside, authorities reportedly found drug paraphernalia, but nothing else.

They charged Hitechew with sale of schedule III narcotics.

Another individual at the home at the time of the search was not charged at the time.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
