Carter Co. man indicted on meth charges

ELIZABETHTON — A county man was arrested Friday on a grand jury indictment on methamphetamine charges. The charges were brought to the grand jury on Nov. 8.

Christopher Neal Dove, 28, 1339 Dry Creek Road, was charged with 12 counts of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture and three county of attempted promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.

The charges stem from the alleged purchases and attempts to purchase cold medicines containing psuedoephedrine at several drug stores in Elizabethton, Johnson City and Bluff City between March and September. Psuedoephedrine is a key ingredient in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Dove is scheduled to answer the charges in the next session of Criminal Court. His bond was set at $69,000.
