ELIZABETHTON — A woman was arrested Wednesday evening on a charge she had used cocaine while she was pregnant.

Wendy Annette Langston, 33, 217 Echo Drive, was charged with one count of reckless endangerment.

Carter County Sheriff's Lt. Randy Bowers investigated a 911 call that had been made on March 1 by Brandon Horvath, who was identified by Langston as the father of the child. On the call, Bowers said Horvath told 911 dispatchers that his pregnant girlfriend had "shot up" cocaine and was having an adverse reaction.

On March 8, Bowers called Horvath, but instead reached Langston. He said she admitted to having an adverse reaction to cocaine while she was 29 weeks pregnant.

Langston is scheduled to answer the charge in Sessions Court on Dec. 31.
