Traffic stop leads to habitual motor offender arrest

A traffic stop led Johnson City police to arrest a man classified as a habitual motor offender on Monday.

Police said Benny L. Branum, 36, 1728 Todd Drive, was stopped on East Watauga Avenue for a headlight violation.

Branum was charged with second offense driving after being declared a habitual motor offender.

He was jailed on $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance today.
