Man charged with attempted murder from Kingsport stabbing

KINGSPORT — Police have arrested a Rutledge man wanted since August when he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend's brother in the stomach outside a Kingsport home.Anthony J. Coffey was located shortly after midnight Tuesday at Miller Village Apartments, 3800 Eastline Drive, Apartment 21. Kingsport Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Patton says Coffey is charged with attempted second-degree murder.The incident occurred Aug. 9 at a home on Warpath Drive. At that time,police reported a resident was engaged in an argument with her daughter, Ashley Kiser, 26, when her brother attempted to step in.
