Johnson City police arrested a 17-year-old boy accused in a domestic assault after a chase and a brief struggle on Monday.

Police did not release the boy's name because of his age and did not say where the incident took place.

About 8:30 p.m., police responded to a call about a domestic assault and spotted the teen running from the scene. They chased him through several back yards and alleys but lost sight of him.

Police set up around the area and searched for the boy, finally seeing him returning to scene of the crime. He was caught and arrested after a brief struggle.

The 17-year-old was charged with aggravated domestic assault, simple domestic assault, evading arrest, resisting arrest and simple assault on an officer.

He was held in the regional Juvenile Detention Center pending a hearing at Johnson City Juvenile Court.
