Johnson City police today arrested a 25-year-old man Tuesday on charges that he intentionally struck two road construction crew members with his vehicle.

Police said Robert Kevin Hurst Jr., no address listed, was driving on Skyline Drive in a construction zone Oct. 18 when he ignored instructions from two construction flaggers and intentionally struck them with his vehicle. He drove away and removed his license plate trying to elude police.

Hurst was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and driving on a suspended license.

Police said Hurst would be jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $61,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Wednesday.
