Police: Man threw bricks through Kingsport church building windows

KINGSPORT — Kingsport police have arrested a man for allegedly throwing bricks through the glass windows of a former downtown church.The incident occurred Sunday at the Woodyard Center on East Church Circle. The building is owned by First Broad Street United Methodist Church and held services up until 1969. At approximately 7 p.m., dispatch was alerted to a suspicious man in the area. A police report says a witness spotted the individual "throw a water hose over a fence at the back of the church," then heard glass breaking.
