Two local women arrested for Sears shoplifting

Following an investigation into shoplifting from a North Roan Street department store, police arrested two local women.

According to a Johnson City police news release, 24-year-old Monika A. Shuffler, of Johnson City, and 41-year-old Lorrie R. Hyder, of Elizabethton were arrested on Tuesday and each charged with felony shoplifting over $500 from Sears.

They were being investigated from reportedly shoplifting from the store. Following their arrests, they were brought to Washington County Detention Center where they were each being held on $5,000 bond. Their arraignment is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. today in Sessions Court.
