A Johnson City police news release said police saw Jeremy M. Moden, 36, 137 Jax Drive, Lot No. 4, squealing his tires and driving at a high rate of speed at around 7 p.m. on West Main Street near the intersection of Whitney Street.
The officer turned on his lights and attempted to pull over Moden, who ignored police, continuing to drive for several blocks at the same high rate of speed before pulling over. During an investigation of Moden, police found a small amount of a white powder substance on him, as well as having a suspended license. Police did not identify the substance.
Moden was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $12,000 bond. His arraignment is set for today at 1:45 p.m. in Sessions Court.
