Staff Reports • Sep 21, 2013 at 9:15 PM

A Johnson City man was arrested for his connection to a wreck earlier this month, police said.

Johnson City police said at around 1 p.m. Sept. 4, Jimmy D. Moffitt, 33, no address available, was driving a blue Jeep when an argument took place between he and his girlfriend. Moffitt then choked his girlfriend with a necklace she was wearing, police said, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle and crash. Following the wreck, Moffitt fled the scene of the accident, police said.

Police served Moffitt an outstanding warrant on Sept. 17 charging him with first offense of driving on a revoked license, domestic aggravated assault, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was being held on $10,000 bond at the Washington County Detention Center and is set for a Sessions Court appearance Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
