The great fish stick heist: 16-year-old charged with arson and burglary after stealing fish sticks, setting home on fire

KINGSPORT — A 16-year-old has been arrested for setting a Kingsport home ablaze after he allegedly stole fish sticks, frozen pizzas, old coins and a Zippo lighter, according to the Kingsport Police Department.
On September 1, the Kingsport Fire Department responded to a fire at 2101 Steadman Street. Once KFD firefighters extinguished the blaze, both KPD and KFD began their investigation into the cause of the fire.
The investigation revealed accelerants had been used in the fire. The accelerant was poured on the floor of a back bedroom and a back entryway in the home and then ignited.
