Sears sales associate charged with embezzlement

Johnson City police arrested a Sears sales associate Saturday and charged him with embezzlement over $500.
Jordan Chavez, 20, 298 Roberts Hill Road, Marshall, N.C., was accused of making false returns and keeping the money.
Around 3 p.m. Saturday, police were called to Sears in the Johnson City Mall, where loss prevention employees said Chavez had been under investigation for several days.
Chavez was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and held on $5000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Sessions Court.
